Athena renews its ties with the region by joining the WOWnature Project

Alonte (Vicenza, Italy), September 28, 2023 - Athena, a company known internationally for the manufacture of technical products for industry applications and spare parts for off-road motorcycles, proudly celebrates its fiftieth anniversary, underlining its ongoing commitment to manufacturing excellence, social responsibility and environmental protection.

On the occasion of this important milestone, Athena joined the WOWnature project of Etifor, the spin-off of the University of Padua, which is committed to making a positive impact on the environment and the community.
By joining this initiative, the company intends to plant, within two years, a tree for each of its employees worldwide, in support of the reconstruction of the forest devastated by the Vaia storm, which hit the Asiago Plateau in Vicenza, Italy in 2018.

With this project, Athena confirms its strong commitment to the environment and to the region in which it has been operating for half a century now. 

The company has always been committed to environmental issues. Athena has demonstrated this commitment over the years by installing increasingly advanced and extensive photovoltaic systems at its main offices. These systems are capable of reducing CO2 emissions by as much as 965 tons, and are currently covering 25 percent of the company's energy needs, with a target of increase this percentage by 2026.

In addition to efficient energy management, Athena has always demonstrated a strong commitment to waste management, with a current recovery and recycling rate of 89% of waste generated. These actions highlight the company's ongoing commitment to reducing environmental impacts and promoting sustainability.
