What is Aerogel?

Aerogel is a category of materials known for their extraordinary insulating capabilities and their extreme lightness. Primarily composed of silica, Aerogel has a highly porous structure that can hold up to 99.8% air, making it one of the lightest solid materials available on the market.

Types of Aerogel

Athena offers two main types of Aerogel to meet its clients' different needs: Cryogenic LT Aerogel and HT Aerogel for high temperatures.

While LT Aerogel is suitable for cryogenic applications, HT Aerogel can be used in extreme environments where heat protection is crucial, such as in boilers.
